We installed a Walnut Bookmatch meeting table and matching reception top and desk today. This was local wood the owner had attachment to. We re-milled these 4” slabs into two sets of book matched slabs. The reception wall was done and we were asked to design and build around it. Our client was very please with the outcome.

Epoxy is always underestimated. Everyone thinks it is easy to get a perfectly flat and flawless final finish. It is NOT easy!

Experience and wisdom are critical!

By the way, Wisdom is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted”. We have Wisdom with epoxy because we have done so many and learn the hard way. Learning costs $$$$$$$ and time.

Glad to be past that phase … nice to be able to confidently deliver refined pieces like this on a regular basis.

We had a few newer team member on a field trip to our Sawmill today. Tom gave the tour and some great tutorials on the different machines we run and how they get through their day up at the sawmill moving all the heavy stuff around.

The team we have works so hard to mill correctly, stack properly, store for the correct amount of air drying time, operate the kilns with precision just to supply local wood slabs to local customers.

While there Am showed us a 50” diameter White Oak he broke into Quarters for a Quartersawn White class.
