How big should your table be?

24 inches of table edge per person.
36 inches from the table edge to the wall.
48 inches if people walk behind the chairs.

Measure the room, take 72 inches off the length and the width, and what is left is the biggest table that works in there.

This one is a solid Maple dark live edge top on a white trestle base. Tell us your room size in the comments and we will tell you what fits.

Matching every board is one way to build a table. Working with what the tree actually gave you is another. We went with the second one.

The most common mistake we see is a table that is beautiful and too big for the room.

Four numbers worth knowing before you order anything:

24 inches of table edge per person
36 inches from the table edge to the wall
48 inches if people walk behind the chairs
30 inches is standard table height

All of that clearance is measured from the edge of the table, not the back of the chair.
