Four special whiskey boxes we made will be up for auction next Tuesday, April 20th for the Wide Open Spaces/By Air benefit auction put on by Wyoming Whiskey, Harrison Ford, and the National Park Foundation.

Each whiskey blend is named after a unique Wyoming landmark, and topographic data from the coordinates of each location was used to create the 3D topographic surfaces for the box lids and top of the matching leather-lined bottle holder inside. Details include custom engraved brass tags, brass Brusso latches, letter-pressed interior info label, and a laser-etched Wyoming Whiskey logo on the back. Each box was made with locally sourced Oregon Black Walnut and Western Maple from Goby Walnut & Western Hardwoods.

We’ve been busy finishing up 2020 with a few dining tables—here are some shots of a new design. Squared off Oregon Black Walnut slab top from Goby Walnut & Western Hardwoods with a modern walnut and steel base, measuring 112" x 44" x 30"H. Small surface cracks and checks in the top, edges, and underside were repaired with nearly 100 tiny patch inlays, attempting to blend each one with the surrounding grain as much as possible. The slim lines of the solid joined walnut bases are reinforced with matching steel profiles and connected with small machine screws, resulting in a minimal but extremely sturdy base.
