A couple of mirror frames in process. The little blocks on the inside of the miters are from the mitre cutoffs themselves, just folded back around. The grain and color match perfectly.

I had to do a small patch on these painted shelves. Rather then re-spray the entire shelf I brushed it on and buffed out the brush marks, and matched the semi-gloss sheen. I think it would have been less work to spray 😂
But! This is a great option in a finished home, with an installed piece of woodwork, as you would have to mask off and spray.

Look at all that yellow! I like to put a bright color, usually yellow or amber, under a darker, walnut colored stain. This really makes the figure in the wood pop and gives it a soft glow behind the stain and topcoat.

is holding up the entire house! Just kidding :). Nathan and I replaced these logs in 2017. It was a fun project, I think the hardest part of a log home is the chinking.

Happy New Years! Our 3 year old just “read” the entire 8 minute nativity story for the last time this holiday season prior to helping disassemble this oak and cedar stable for storing. I don’t often have time to make things for our home, so pieces like this are extra special.

Before and after photo of a door I updated the glass in. The 90’s contributed a lot of great things to the world, but decorative oval glass in entry doors was not one of those things.
P.S. The paint is not finished in the after photo!

Merry Christmas! 🎄 This is an antique pine mantle I did last year at a close friend’s home. So rewarding to see this piece at the center of their holiday decor.

This is a detail of how I prefer to attach newel posts for stair railings. This makes for a super strong attachment point that will last as long as needed.

Let’s build something! “I need more tape papa” Absolutely priceless.

One of the reasons I chose woodworking as a career is so that I could integrate family and work. I love seeing the early fruits of that choice.

Before and After of a staircase I finished last month. The treads are lightly distressed/rustic white oak, stained to match the existing flooring. I filled any knots with black epoxy.
