Traditional swinging upper cabinets look fine on paper... until you’re actively cooking and constantly dodging the doors. 🤦‍♂️

When we design kitchens at 1170 East, we prioritize workflow just as much as aesthetics. If you are mapping out a Rhode Island kitchen remodel, vertical lift systems are a complete game-changer:

🔹 Zero Blocked Workspaces – Leave them wide open while prepping without hitting your head.
🔹 Perfect Ergonomics – Smooth mechanical lift hardware that stays out of your way.
🔹 Seamless Lines – The ultimate way to achieve a clean, handleless luxury kitchen design.

The best part? You don’t have to guess how your wood grains match your countertops. At our physical kitchen design hub, we’ve integrated our cabinetry studio directly with the on-site First Class Marble & Granite gallery. We can match your layout to full-size stone slabs in seconds.

Don’t design a space you’ll regret using in two years. Work with an experienced kitchen designer to get it right from concept to installation.

You don’t need traditional hardware to create a high-end kitchen. ✨

While classic handles will always have a place in design, the shift toward European-inspired warm minimalism is taking over modern luxury renovations. Homeowners looking for an ultra-clean, architectural aesthetic are moving toward completely flush, handleless cabinetry featuring advanced touch-to-open technology and concealed pulls.

Here is why this seamless layout is transforming premium custom spaces:

▪️ Zero Visual Noise: Eliminating hardware creates a continuous, clean wall of modern cabinetry. This turns your kitchen into an elegant architectural statement rather than just a utility workspace.

▪️ Streamlined Maintenance: No hardware means no handles to polish, no cooking grease buildup around backplates, and flat surfaces that wipe clean in seconds.

▪️ Effortless Functionality: High-end mechanical touch-to-open cabinetry allows you to open a hidden drawer or cabinet with a gentle nudge, even when your hands are completely full.

It is a sleek, modern luxury alternative that feels incredibly premium to use every single day.

💬 Let’s settle the debate in the comments:
Would you choose traditional hardware or seamless, handleless cabinetry for your home?

The 1170 East x First Class Marble Collaboration ✨

Most designers send clients to various stone yards across the city. At 1170 East, we’ve integrated the entire process within our kitchen design studio and showroom.

As a dedicated Kitchen Design Hub, we bring custom cabinetry and natural stone experts together in one physical space.

Having the First Class Marble gallery and office located directly within our showroom provides a unique advantage:

▫️ Real-Time Material Matching Our designers can physically match cabinet door samples to full-size slabs in seconds, not days.

▫️ Precision Curation We ensure the stone veining and wood grain are perfectly synchronized while you are still in the studio.

▫️ Seamless Logistics Sharing an office means your vision never gets lost between the design studio and the stone gallery.

This level of quality control ensures the final installation in your home perfectly matches the original showroom concept.

The intention is simple: if the design doesn’t shift the atmosphere of the room, it’s just a renovation. Everything else is just cabinetry. ✨

At 1170 east, we design for the life lived within the space. 🥂

Hidden Engineering is the new luxury standard. 📐

In 2026, the most valuable kitchens aren’t the largest—they are the most intelligent. We are seeing a definitive shift toward ZERO-CLUTTER ARCHITECTURE, where high-use essentials are accessible in seconds, yet invisible when not in use.

The Mechanical Edge:

🔹 PRECISION INTEGRATION: The telescopic top is grain-matched to your primary slab for a seamless, “disappearing” effect.

🔹 HEAVY-DUTY LIFTING: Motorized engineering designed specifically for the load-bearing requirements of natural stone.

🔹 SPACE RECLAMATION: Utilizing the vertical volume beneath your island without sacrificing a single inch of prep space.

True luxury doesn’t scream. It reveals.
