Field Day is approaching on June 22nd and 23rd. We're excited to see everyone for a day filled with radio excitement. If you're curious about HF and radio operations, join us to discover more. Even if you don't have a license but are intrigued by Ham Radio, come along—we'll be happy to answer your questions and give you a glimpse into the world of Amateur radio.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue into this evening. The best chance for severe thunderstorms will be along and southeast of the I-44 corridor. There is a low potential for localized flooding.

Severe thunderstorms moving through Springfield produced a wind gust of 62 mph around 1:15 PM.

Greene co under a severe thunderstorm warning ⚠️ till 1415.

Nixa amateur club has a GMRS repeater up in Springfield.

For those that have patiently been waiting, the 462.725+ PL 162.2 Hz GMRS repeater is online and operational.

The official “name” of the repeater will be “Central Springfield 725”

Please remember to ID on the repeater just like you would with your amateur ID. Use of “handles” is discouraged. We want to keep operations on our GMRS repeater just as professional as we have on our amateur repeaters.

This repeater is stand alone and not linked and all licensed GMRS operators are welcome.

Only Part 90 and Part 95 FCC type accepted radios are legal to use on GMRS - if you have a question about your radio’s type acceptance, generally amateur only gear by Yaesu, Kenwood, Alinco and Icom is not legal.

I am still waiting on my antenna and cable, but the repeater is set up. 462.6250 ctcss 100.0 in and out.
