I dont usually like to paint over inlaid pieces but the inlay on this piece was beyond restoring. I went for a stone look using lots of texture with a stipple technique. Painted in Annie Sloan’s Coco, sealed in black and clear wax and accented with a gold gilding wax. I always love how dark wax helps beautiful hidden details pop!

Here’s a couple of night stands painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint: Old White. Sharing a before/after and an in between side by side of both pieces - (before wax detailing) to show the definition that dark wax gives your end result.
These were sealed with clear wax and detailed using dark wax.

Nothing like some detailed painting to make a long weekend perfect! Painting makes my soul happy! Sharing some before and after pictures of my weekend project. I had no direction when I started painting this piece but she spoke to me along the way and I brought her back to life. From dull and out dated - to pizzaz, pop and statement maker!

LOTS of color blending to achieve this Mexican sarape look! Have to admit, this project was a little challenging and tough on my perfectionist brain. In the end I just went with it and it came out just as I envisioned it.

This circa 1920’s oldie but goodie got a beautiful makeover using Annie Sloan - old white and was sealed with a dark wax. The inside was painted with a metallic paint from Dixie Belle. Gold foil was used for the accents. She came out lovely!
