Happy Birthday to the American Legion! This organization, established in 1919, has been serving our country honorably for over 100 years and continues to impact the lives of our nations’ heroes. On their birthday, CoronadoDC honors American Legion for their commitment and tireless work in honoring the men and women who serve our county both domestically and overseas.

We salute their service and thank them for all they have done.

It is a special day to honor the canine members of our military and law enforcement teams who serve bravely and selflessly alongside their human counterparts. These dogs are valued members whose sacrifice and bravery must be recognized, let’s all celebrate our four-legged heroes!

The initial Purple Heart was elected as the Badge of Military Merit. It was founded by General George Washington in 1782, recognizing soldiers in the Revolutionary War.

Today, the purple heart is awarded to U.S. military members who were injured or killed in combat. The medal displays a bust of George Washington and his coat of arms.

Purpleheart day is a time when we pay respects to fallen military members, listen to the stories of the wounded, and to thank them for their service to our nation.

A shout out to DeNee Logan and our CoronadoDC furniture team for completing a nice system furniture project over the weekend for the San Diego VA medical center. Even during these difficult times with COVID 19. It was all team work and patiences to get this project completed.
