In a step forward in saving the remaining shark species left on this planet, Air New Zealand has just banned the transport of shark fins from their flights. New Zealand is one of the countries largely responsible for the processing and transporting of shark fins. Given that New Zealand has a "clean, green" marketing scheme going, the fact that shark finning has not been banned from New Zealand waters is a giant misrepresentation of going green. "Representatives from seven of the eight political parties in Parliament signed a pledge in November last year committing their support for a law change to ban shark finning in New Zealand. However, the National Party refused to sign the pledge"-wildlifeextra.com
The fact that airlines are staring to ban the transport of fins is a great step in the right direction. Many Asian Airlines have also adopted this ban. Keep the fight going and sign any pledges you can find. The more people that see the devastation of 100 million sharks killed a year, the more people will make their opinion heard.

Phrynosoma platyrhinos, (coast horned lizard) kicked it with us on the sand highway in Plaster City. Feed mostly on ants and some berries. They are fast sprinters on short distances and can be found in Southern California deserts. Ocotillo - Yuma

Hey Everyone,
Household Habitats has brought you a style of terrarium that can not be found anywhere else. Our units are built with care and precision to ensure that they will be as impressive as the pet you keep in them, and will last as long as you do. We want to thank all of you who are waiting for orders. The website is still under construction and we are moving shops the second week of October. We will start taking the first new orders on November 1, 2012. We are also going to be bringing supplies and some "innovative accessories" to the new site ready to be shipped to your door. Again very sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

73 million sharks killed annually for their fins.
At that rate sharks no longer have the time to reproduce and keep up. These sharks are caught by long lining. These long lines reach from 1 mile to 100 miles. It is a monofilament line with thousands of hooks kept near the surface with floatation devices. As the lines are retrieved the hundreds to thousands of sharks that are brought on board are finned and thrown back into the ocean often alive writhing around until they bleed to death or drown as a large quantity must keep swimming to breath.. The fins are then used for a soup that is not only nearly tasteless, but unhealthy for humans to eat. The soup is loaded with mercury and lead. Shark fin soup is eaten by the chinese as a status symbol. It is served at nearly every function such as weddings, banquets, government hosted events, etc. for $40-90$ a bowl. This must be stopped. At this time they have announced that 17%...sorry one more time, 17% of shark species are now on the verge of EXTINCTION due to the shark finning trade. That is sick and cruel not just to the sharks or the ocean, but to the entire planet. If we cannot stop this the entire ocean ecosystem, which translates to life as we know it on earth, will be in peril. Please sign the petitions...
