Why is SCIC Italia San Francisco sharing Schiffini?

Because the best Italian kitchens are not chosen from a catalog.

They are chosen from a lineage.

At SCIC Italia, we believe a kitchen should be more than something you renovate around. It should be part of the architecture of your home: considered in proportion, made from materials worth living with, and designed to remain relevant long after a trend has passed.

That is why we care about designers like Vico Magistretti.

In 1986, he designed Cina for Schiffini: a kitchen built around quiet geometry, concealed handles, and a monumental hood that turned a functional object into architecture.

Forty years later, Cina won the 2026 EDIDA Kitchen Award—one of the ELLE DECO International Design Awards, a leading international recognition for design.

For us, that is not just an award. It is proof of a standard.

SCIC Italia acquired Schiffini because these are the designs worth carrying forward: ideas with enough integrity to outlast fashion, enough craft to serve real life, and enough character to become part of a family’s home for generations.

For a San Francisco home, choosing SCIC Italia means choosing more than Italian-made cabinetry.

It means owning a piece of that heritage—designed in Italy, considered for your life, and made to stay with you.

90% of my clients in the US are Italian.

All these designers and architects go to Milan in April for the Milan Design Week to learn what’s the newest in Kitchens..

Come to SCIC San Francisco to see it without traveling to Milan.

Designers share this to your client and show them what they’re doing in Italy.

Dear algorithm, connect me to architects who hide appliances.

Big appliance doors break up the clean lines in a modern kitchen.

When we do custom cabinetry in Italy, the integrated refrigerator disappears completely into the paneled wall. You get the full storage without staring at metal panels.

Share this with someone designing a luxury kitchen.

This countertop lifts straight up with zero motor.

Underneath is the entire hidden cooktop and prep sink. The faucet retracts flat so the top closes completely flush.

This is Italian kitchen design engineered for luxury architecture where the entire cooking engine can disappear.

This mirrored Italian kitchen broke the internet. And half of you said the same thing.

“How do you keep it clean?”

Fair. I thought the same thing when I saw it in Milan.

Here’s what nobody talked about. That version was touch to open. No handles. So every time you touched the door, fingerprints on antique mirror.

What we did instead: small integrated handles along the door frame. You never touch the glass. The whole kitchen stays completely clean, and the mirrored surface reflects the room instead of smudges.

Would you do an antique mirror kitchen in your home?

Walking into our showroom in Milan is always a jaw dropping experience.

This year I was shocked to see that the orange was a leather. I was thinking this is gotta be some kind of lacquer or something because it’s rounded on the corners and who would’ve thought of putting leather on a kitchen? That seems crazy.

But it’s the crazy that I love. Anybody can do ordinary square wooden kitchens. We’re not ordinary. We’re extraordinary.

The luxury homeowner is looking for something nobody else has had and that is a high-quality. Here you go you have found their answer.

I’ve got lots more to show you. Reach out and DM me.
