Chair Repair. The top of the back of this chair had been broken off more than once. I was really left with no other choice but to use a fastener. I elected to pre-drill a hole and a diagonal from the inside of the outer shell real disguising it as best as possible without using fillers. Between the fasteners and the glue I am very hopeful this chair will last many more years. But at the same time I can’t say that once the chairs were paired it’s very rare that it would ever be as good as sturdy as it was brand new. And for those chairs heirlooms that belong to sets of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers those are often just looking at chairs. The people and those times were much smaller than us in over the years does chairs have become nothing more than fragile.
