Kitchen sinks have come a long way from 18th century rudimentary washstands, to present day residential culinary work stations💧

If you appreciate the modern seamless look on your countertop then a workstation sink system may be the right choice for you. With an integrated tiered ledge, rolled up drying rack, and wood cutting board contained in the sink area, to create efficiency and maximize counter space.

Pictured here are two attractive styles that Chapman has had the pleasure of installing:
1. Undermount Sink System
2. Apron Front Sink System

Fall is almost here and it's the perfect time to style a cozy living room.

Here are some tips to create an autumnal sanctuary:
🍁Evoke Ambience - introduce warm lighting from rich, woody smelling candles like sandalwood, and scented mobile lamps.
🍁Layer it up - pull the room together with layered textures such as velvet pillows, plush throws, soft window treatments, and woven rugs.
🍁Embrace Biophilia - integrate natural elements and greenery with tiered plant arrangements, sculptural vases, baskets, and artwork.

We take inspiration from the beauty that surrounds us in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy helping our clients blend natural materials, luxurious textures, and earthy color schemes into their homes.

Exposed beams and rafters are one of our favorite visual components to use in rustic, modern, minimalist, and historic spaces.

They can help a structure feel warm and organic, give it height while imbuing a cozy vibe, and unify a home through character. When utilized effectively, they add visual balance to a room.

Check out some of our fun projects showcasing this beautiful feature.

Our field crew took some terrific progress photos of our Woodinville whole home reconstruction!

The team has transformed the open framing into defined, solid rooms with drywall. This is typically the construction phase where homeowners get a better feel for the physical spaces and can get serious about taking dimensions for furniture planning.

We are thrilled to see the rooms formed and cannot wait to share more development updates! www.chapmanprojects.com

Carriage Houses popularized in Seattle during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a status symbol for the wealthy 🐎

These functional outbuildings were utilized for storing the elite's horse drawn carriages on the first story, with coachman living quarters on the second story above. Today, many of these historic homes are being revamped for modern use.

When we take on a special project like this, we focus on preserving the original character wherever we can. Here are some exterior shots of this expansive remodel.

Are you weighing the pros and cons of open shelving for an upcoming remodel?

Here are some questions to ask yourself during the decision making process:
💡Do I want easy access to beautifully displayed items?
💡Can I sacrifice drawer or cabinet space for decorative shelves?
💡Am I prepared to regularly dust/wipe the shelving and display items to keep them presentable?
💡Will these features appeal to future potential home buyers?

It is important to be strategic about the quantity and location of floating shelves in any space. In recent years homeowners have dedicated more niche-like areas for display shelving vs hidden storage. Take a look at some of our projects that highlight this design element ➡️ www.chapmanprojects.com

The window placement and style in this provides the perfect backdrop for a cozy breakfast nook.

Where possible, large exterior windows with a view of greenery, particularly in a kitchen, create a relaxing vibe that boosts energy and sets a positive tone for any meal. There are practical benefits as well like natural lighting and solar heating.

Our team loves restoring and updating historic homes in the Greater Seattle area, especially those from the Victorian era!

If you are looking to maximize wall storage in your kitchen while ensuring it still has ample natural light, an interior relite window could be your solution 🪟

We had the opportunity to install a relite window between the new kitchen and music room for this Magnolia home remodel. This decorative internal casement allowed the abundant light from the adjacent rooms to fill the west side of the kitchen with warm ambient lighting, without sacrificing the much needed storage space on the range wall. It also provides a pleasant view while at the main sink.

Our crew takes pride in being thoughtful and thorough during every project's lifecycle.

One of the items we analyze for our large remodels is roof safety and durability, especially if we are finishing out an attic space. Our field team noticed that the roof of this Magnolia bungalow needed resealing. After discussion with the client they cleaned the surface, inspected vulnerable areas, and applied new roof sealants.

Safety is a top priority of ours and clients have the peace of mind that we will convey concerns to them and offer viable solutions, with a stunning end result.
