Went out this morning but the first spot had way too much current, so I switched to a spot I haven't fished in about 12 years.
I caught a few fish at each spot and normally wouldn't post fish of this size, but at the second spot they were just little meatballs.

Sometimes you plan all week about wear to fish and realize you picked the wrong lake and have a crappy day. Well today was not that day, caught quality fish at two different spots but Karma did get me though. I busted Jon Ouellette about losing a nice smallmouth on Friday and I lost a quality fish in a tree today. Lol

Took a mental health day today, only caught about half the amount that I thought I would, but I got one of the right one...

To say this year has been a test would be putting it lightly. Health issue, surgery and a less than normal recovery have put me a month down on my fishing so I have been getting out whenever I can to try and meet my yearly goal. Shore fished again today because "fish don't care if they get wet". Was fun watching this little guy come up from an 18 inch channel to hit my frog in 6 inches of water.

I was supposed to be in Maine this weekend but cancelled because of the weather. If I hadn't seen footage of the coast I would have said the news was just selling groceries. After a few hours of hanging around a watching drizzle and a slight breeze I decided to go cast around from shore. Caught two small ones i an hour.

Well, I've spent almost 5 weeks shore fishing and being a passenger with others.
This weekend was the first time I was able to get out fishing solo in my canoe. Caught a ton of small fish yesterday and put up some decent numbers today while landing a few respectable fish, wish this one ate breakfast before I caught her, she was a little thin.

What a difference a few days and a little rain make. I fished this spot on Monday without a single bite but the water was low and fish were probably scattered. With the recent rains increasing the current flow, it put fish in more predictable places and easier to target. Jon Ouellette you should have hit this after work yesterday. Lol

I've been relegated to shore fishing for the immediate future, so a huge shout-out to my son Ed for driving up, loading the boat, launching it and then unloading everything when we got back. The morning started out pretty good with us both landing a few fish but just a couple good ones, then just when the sun started breaking through the clouds, I caught quite a nice fish for the pond we were at. We struggled to scratch out a handful more and ended the day with 14. Man, I really needed that after the last 10 days.
