After I'm guessing, close to 20 years, I bought a new couch. The 2 ends recline and the center console has cup holders when you pull it down which makes having a coffee table in front of it look kind of silly.

About 7 years ago I found a very yellow pine coffee table at my local Goodwill in Florida. Took it apart and stained it to resemble a driftwood dock. Loved it.

Today, I took it apart again. Sanded off the clear coat that protected it and scuffed up the gray stain finish. Whitewashed over it. Added some blue. Played with light and dark shades. Tomorrow I'll work on the top and see if I like it. I'll also spray paint the black brackets that hold it together white.

Wait and see! I have no idea if this will work!

🎨 When the same neighbors pull up the next day and ask if I will part with the piece (Sadly, i say, yes) and can they bring it home that day.
~ Yes, I have a dolly.

🎨 When I'm asked how I come up with my ideas💡
~ Truly, once I take the sander to the finish to "check under the hood", all bets are off and the piece has the say. I try to stay true to the period and style. I'll take a photo of my progress, post it here and sleep on it to decide what I can add or change. Your feedback helps a lot!!

The pine jelly cabinet is finished and available for purchase.

How sweet is this solid wood cabinet with shelves behind that little gnome door?

I sanded the old, dark finish, smoothing out scratches. Whitewashed the sides and around the door, leaving the top and door raw wood. Added floral transfers to both; sealed with multiple coats of polycrylic for durability. Original hardware cleaned and sprayed.

Measures 20½" x 12¾" x 37" high.

Adorable Jelly Cabinet ~

So far, I've sanded off the dark finish and scratches. It reminds me of a little gnome home which is influencing the direction I'm taking it.

The Plan ~

• Keep the light wood
• Apply the floral transfers to the door
• Test a sage green color on sides and frame around door
• Clean & polish hardware
• Seal all with polycrylic

I asked ChatGpt to add a soft sage green to the wood around the door and sides. Add the floral transfers to the lower part of the front door and side. See photo. If I paint it, I'll definitely distress the green to tie it together. ChatGpt did a great job capturing my vision!! I don't have enough transfers to do the sides but I like the florals on the door

When I lived in Florida, I was a vendor at a shop that sold Fusion Mineral Paint. It became my paint of choice. I became what was called a "Fusionista" because I was proficient in the use of the paint, teaching classes and helping customers when I was working there.

Recently, Fusion ran a sale ~ buy 5 (1.25 oz.) paint tester bottles and get 5 FREE! How could I resist trying new colors!? Aren't they pretty?!

Thrifty Wednesday at The Master's Touch of Sneads Ferry!

For furniture, I found an adorable solid wood cabinet with an arched door and a white child sized stool (that a friend noticed and held up for me) with a top that lifts.

There's a group of us that know each other now from waiting in line and one friend found a sign saying, "Having no freckles is like having no stars in the sky". She grabbed it, sought me out in the store and with a smile, presented it to me! WYKYK! 50¢!!

Booth sprucing day!

I recently sold three pieces of furniture ~ one desk w/bench from my booth at Coastal Charm Marketplace, my Louis XV dresser to a customer in Wilmington + my Twisted Sister dresser to my neighbors who spotted it when they came over this weekend for a party! Both had been taking up space in my entryway and now I can open my front door again.

Decided to rearrange my booth, showcasing my benches + solid wood tables. Come visit!
