Before & After - Drop Leaf Table, Circa 1870.
The legs have a walnut & Tulipwood herring one veneer.
The top and leaves are veneered with walnut, Burl Walnut,
Satinwood, Maple & Fruitwood veneers in a circular pattern.
The veneers have cracked and loosened from the core wood
Contracting. The main work was to glue down all the loose
Veneer and replace the missing veneer. All the veneer over-all
Had a thin glue sizing applied to make all cracks sound.
Then the table was touched-up where needed and the finish
On the top and base restored with shellac.
