MEET THE OWNERS OF GLENDY’S!
You’ve probably wandered the aisles, discovered a treasure (or three!), chatted with a vendor, and maybe even gotten a little lost in all the wonderful things inside Glendy’s. But how well do you know the people behind it all?
Meet Glenn & Mindy, the husband and wife team who have owned Glendy’s for 12 years!
So, how did Glendy’s come to be? Well, the name is pretty simple really. Glenn+Mindy= Glendy’s
We asked them a few questions so you could get to know the people behind one of Terre Haute’s favorite antique destinations.
•What made you want to own an antique mall?
They wanted to be their own bosses, and with plenty of prior experience, the antique business had always been an interesting field to them both.
•What are you most proud of about Glendy’s?
Without hesitation: their vendors. And honestly, we think that says a lot about the kind of people they are.
•Who’s more serious about the store?
Glenn. By far.
He’s here from sunup to sundown and then some!
•What’s the most memorable antique/vintage item you’ve found or sold?
Gator Boy.
An old birdcage containing a real, taxidermied alligator dressed in doll clothes. Yep… you read that correctly. It eventually sold for the bargain price of $95!
•Who’s most likely to bring home a treasure from the store?
Mindy.
“Duh.”
•What does Mindy collect?
Besides dust?
Mid-century glass, especially stretch vases (also known as swing vases).
•If you could bring back one decade which one and why?
The 1970s—because that’s when Glenn and Mindy graduated, got married, and made some of their very best memories together.
(How sweet)
•What’s your favorite part of interacting with Glendy’s customers?
Seeing customers leave happy and knowing they had a great experience. The compliments are wonderful, but it’s the validation behind those compliments that means the most to them.
And after 12 years of countless hours, blood, sweat, tears, and probably more than a little dust, one thing is clear:
They still absolutely love what they do.
And if you’ve ever been to Glendy’s during the holidays, you probably know that one of their favorite times of year is the Christmas Open House, held every November. It’s a special time when vendors fill the mall with their vintage Christmas finds, and the whole place becomes a little extra magical. This year the event will be held on November 7th, 2026.
So the next time you walk through the doors at Glendy’s, be sure to say hello to Glenn and Mindy.
They’re not just the owners.
They’re the heart behind the place.
Stay tuned as we continue introducing you to the people who make Glendy’s what it is!
