Soooo… what IS The Queen’s Treasures now?
Many of you have known us for years as a toy company dedicated to creating high-quality, affordable historical dolls, furniture and accessories.
But the reason behind those toys has always been bigger than the toys themselves.
We believe children need the opportunity to "imagine". To use THEIR voice, instead of listening to an electronic one. To create their OWN stories. To ask questions, solve problems, recreate history and sometimes turn a simple afternoon of play into an entire world of their own making.
What our toys DON’T do is tell a child what happens next.
They don’t require a prompt on an electronic screen. They don’t mesmerize with an endless stream of moving images. They ask a child to provide the most important ingredient:
Their own imagination.
And honestly, I think we need more of that, not less.
Now, don't misunderstand me. Technology has its place. Trust me, I find “normal” AI incredibly useful. Today it helped me re-establish the connection to our Facebook Shop, which apparently had been disconnected for quite some time! 😂 I use it to spell-check (clearly necessary!), analyze data, help with images and tackle some of the hundreds of little things involved in running a business when you are INCREDIBLY short staffed and short on cash. But a tool should be a tool. It shouldn't do our thinking for us.
And that thought is actually a big part of what The Queen's Treasures has "become" since tariffs were enacted on a product line that had been tariff free for over 30 years.
YES, we are devoted to the dolls and toys you know us for. But, because last years illegal tariffs made our production unafforable -we looked inward. We had help doing that too. I looked to the life of my favorite "author" whose stories of triumph, tragedy, strength, and HUMAN connection got me through some pretty tough times for the last 65 years. We never lost faith in our original mission.
Yet we realized an opportinity to expand our mission for quality, wholesome, enduring "things" that bring us back to a more "pure" time. Food without genetic "modification", furniture that LASTS and doesn't have a short shelf life, Gifts that offer sentiment that make us laugh or smile!
Our Mercantile is filled with products inspired by home, history, family, tradition and simpler ways of living. You'll find Little House on the Prairie favorites, pantry foods, gifts, home décor, seasonal treasures and things that simply make a home feel a little warmer.
In many ways, we've come full circle. The Queen's Treasures isn't just about toys anymore. It's about preserving some of the things we believe are worth holding onto: imagination, history, family, home, kindness, gratitude and the joy of doing things with your own two hands.
So much more to come including a "space" to put life in perspective. I can't wait to show you what's coming next. ❤️
