TEAM TYNDALL… Y’ALL SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT TODAY!!!

We asked for support, and y’all understood the assignment!!! 💎❤️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Team Tyndall, we raised OVER $2,000 at today’s BX fundraiser to support the Tyndall AFB Youth Center’s Babysitting & CPR Certification Course!!! 🎉🙌🏼

This is about so much more than just raising money. We’re helping our military kids gain valuable life skills, earn certifications, and create opportunities to support other military families who may need an extra hand. That’s what taking care of our military community is all about!

Of course, we couldn’t have pulled this off without some pretty awesome people!

👏 HUGE SHOUTOUT TO:

* Tyndall AFB Youth Programs & 325 FSS for supporting this initiative!
* Destiny Mazzaferri for creating our awesome posters!
* Tyndall AFB ALS Class 27-1 for your donations.
* Paul W. Airey NCOA Class 27-1 for stepping up and supporting our community!
* John & Breanne Farrell
* David Gentry (BX General Manager) and his team for helping make today a success!

And to every single person who stopped by, grabbed a ribbon rack aligner, donated, or simply helped spread the word… THANK YOU!!! 🫶🏼

It’s days like today that remind us why Team Tyndall is such an incredible community. A little teamwork, a lot of generosity, and some Airmen willing to put in the work can make a BIG difference!

OVER $2K IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS!!!

Y’all are AWESOME!!! 💎❤️

💎 TYNDALL, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! 💎

Tomorrow, Friday, October 16th, from 10:45 AM – 12:30 PM, the Tyndall First Sergeants will be out in front of the BX raising money for an awesome cause!

We’re working to fund the Youth Center’s upcoming Babysitting & CPR Certification Course for our military kids!

What’s in it for you? We’ll be handing out ribbon rack aligners to help make your next blues inspection a little easier! In return, we’re simply asking for a donation. Big or small, every dollar makes a difference!

This course is about so much more than babysitting. It gives our Tyndall youth valuable life-saving skills, confidence, and the opportunity to become certified babysitters. And as a bonus, it helps build a network of responsible young babysitters for our military families who could use an extra hand, especially during deployments!

💰 Donations accepted: Cash, Venmo and we will have a card reader as well.

📍 Where: In front of the BX
📅 When: Friday, October 16th
⏰ Time: 10:45 AM – 12:30 PM

Come grab a ribbon rack aligner, support our military kids, and help us support the Tyndall AFB Youth Center!

ATTENTION TEAM TYNDALL

Due to anticipated tropical weather impacts, Tyndall AFB will transition to MISSION-ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL ONLY beginning Thursday, 8 October, at 1200L.

As we prepare for whatever Mother Nature has in store, please stay connected with your chain of command, follow official base updates, and make sure your families are prepared.

💎 A special message to our military families, especially those with deployed loved ones: Your First Sergeants are here for YOU! Whether you need help preparing, have questions, or find yourself facing an unexpected challenge, please reach out. No one should have to navigate these situations alone.

Let’s continue doing what Team Tyndall does best: taking care of our people and looking out for one another.

Stay safe, Team Tyndall! 💙✈️

Due to anticipated impacts from Tropical Storm ISAIAS, Tyndall AFB will transition to mission-essential personnel only effective 8 October 2026 at 1200L and until further notice.

Installation access will be limited to:

·Mission-essential military and civilian personnel

·Installation residents

·Personnel specifically authorized by the 325th Fighter Wing

Military personnel: Mission-essential status is determined by unit commanders and the chain of command. Personnel must contact their supervisor if they are unsure whether they are required to report for duty or remain on duty. Personnel not identified as mission essential should not report to the installation unless directed by their chain of command.

Civilian personnel: Mission essential status is determined by unit commanders and the chain of command who will communicate reporting and release guidance to their civilian employees. Mission-essential civilian employees must report for duty or remain on duty as directed by their commander, director, or immediate supervisor, unless specifically excused by competent authority. Non-mission-essential civilian employees should refer to the commander’s “Civilian Employee Administrative Dismissal Due to Inclement Weather Conditions” memorandum and their supervisor for specific instructions.

Mission-essential personnel are those required to maintain minimum base operating functions, life safety, infrastructure protection, command and control, emergency services, and other critical installation operations. Individuals with base access who are not designated as mission-essential personnel should avoid travel to the installation during the access restriction.

🚨 ATTENTION DEPLOYED MEMBER SPOUSES & FAMILIES 🚨

With Tyndall AFB entering HURCON 5, we want to make sure our families with deployed members know that you are not alone!

If your spouse is currently deployed and you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance preparing for the potential weather, please reach out to your unit First Sergeant (Shirt). Whether you need help finding resources, have questions about hurricane preparations, or simply aren’t sure who to contact — your Shirt is here to help.

Please don’t wait until the weather gets closer. Make sure you’re staying informed, reviewing your family’s hurricane plan, and reaching out if there is anything you need.

💎 Deployed spouses — your unit has your back while your Airman is away. Please use us!

Stay safe, stay prepared, and keep an eye out for official Tyndall AFB updates. 💙✈️

⚠️ TYNDALL AFB HAS DECLARED HURCON 5

The latest meteorological outlook now shows a near 100% chance of tropical development within the next 48 hours. In response, Tyndall Air Force Base has officially entered HURCON 5. This means that destructive winds of 58 mph (50 knots) or greater are possible within the next 96 hours. Please note that Tyndall’s HURCON status applies specifically to the installation to guide military preparedness, but all personnel should begin reviewing their personal safety plans.

📲 STAY INFORMED & REGISTER FOR ALERTS

We urge everyone to stay vigilant as this system develops. For installation-specific updates and detailed hurricane guidelines, regularly visit https://www.tyndall.af.mil/Hurricane-Season/. To receive real-time emergency text alerts directly to your phone, sign up immediately via Alert Bay at https://www.alertbay.org/.

💡 Destructive winds are still up to four days away, but with development nearly certain, now is the time to check your emergency kits, secure loose outdoor items, and confirm your family communication plan.

And just like that, the 2026 Fall First Sergeant Symposium is officially off and running!

Day 1 started strong with the 325th Fighter Wing Leadership Team leading the way with a great Icebreaker (still over here wondering if a hotdog is considered a sandwich or taco) and words of wisdom and then diving right into First Sergeant Responsibilities and the NJP process, followed by what I dare say was an Oscar winning performance of an NJP reenactment performed by the Shirts—laying the foundation for what it truly means to wear the diamond and take care of Airmen.

This is our BIGGEST class thus far, and even better—the majority of them already know they want to be SHIRTS!!! 💎🙌🏼

We’ve got an incredible group in the room, and I can’t wait to see the conversations, connections, and growth that happen throughout the rest of the week.

Here’s to building the next generation of Shirts! 💎🇺🇸

💎 A SHIRT’S PERSPECTIVE 💎

A Shirt’s Perspective is simply that—a perspective shaped by experience, reflection, long hours, hard lessons, heartache, and grit. It doesn’t represent the collective voice of all First Sergeants, nor is it intended to be a definitive answer to anything. Our intent isn’t to claim that one viewpoint is better than another, but rather to offer a perspective—one forged in the everyday battles of leadership. A perspective that might spark conversation, challenge assumptions, or simply provide a different way of looking at things. We welcome discussion and diverse viewpoints, as we all continue to learn, grow, and serve together.

HOW HEAVY IS THE DIAMOND?
- MSgt Jackson

“Hey Shirt, got a minute?”

Those words carry a weight that is resoundingly quiet, yet incredibly powerful.

The thing you probably won’t ever hear a Shirt say in that moment is, “No.”

Because no matter what is sitting on our desk, what meeting we are headed to, what we carried home yesterday, or what may already be weighing on us that morning—when one of our people asks, “Got a minute?” we make one.

That is the Diamond.

Many days, we show up eager for the light our people bring with them. We get to share in the laughter from the inside jokes. We celebrate the promotion you worked years for, the award you never thought you would win, the birth of your child, the degree you finally finished, or the moment you walk into our office just to tell us, “Shirt, I got the job!”

We get a front-row seat to some of the best moments in your lives.

And that is one of the greatest privileges of wearing this Diamond.

But there is another side of it.

Some days, we show up a little heavier than we intended.

A little quieter. A little slower.

Because yesterday, someone sat across from us and told us their marriage was falling apart.

Someone received a phone call that changed their life.

Someone admitted they weren’t okay.

Someone was facing consequences for a decision they wished they could take back.

Someone was scared.

Someone was grieving.

And sometimes, someone simply needed a safe place to finally put down everything they had been carrying.

So, for a little while, we carried it with them.

That is a part of this job people don’t always see.

First Sergeants become the keepers of stories we may never repeat. We carry conversations home that we cannot explain to our families. We sometimes lie awake wondering whether we said the right thing, asked the right question, made the right phone call, or noticed enough.

There are victories we celebrate loudly and battles we help fight quietly.

And yes, sometimes the Diamond is heavy.

But please don’t mistake that honesty for hesitation.

Come find us anyway.

Knock on the door.

Send the text.

Make the call.

Say, “Hey Shirt, got a minute?”

Because the weight isn’t you.

The weight comes from understanding the responsibility of being trusted with you—your career, your family, your mistakes, your fears, your hopes, and sometimes the most difficult moments of your life.

We knew when we put on this Diamond that it wasn’t simply something we would wear.

It was something we would carry.

And for all the weight that comes with it, there is an even greater honor in knowing that when one of our Airmen needed someone, they trusted us enough to ask for a minute.

So, how heavy is the Diamond?

Some days, incredibly heavy.

But never too heavy for our people.

“Hey Shirt, got a minute?”

Always.

What a busy weekend for the Tyndall First Sergeants! 💎

Friday morning started with the POW/MIA Remembrance Run—honoring those who were held captive, those who remain missing, and the families who continue to wait. We remember them, we honor them, and we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Then Saturday, we traded the running shoes for mess dress and celebrated 79 years of the United States Air Force! ✈️ From those who paved the way to the Airmen carrying the mission forward today, it was a great night celebrating our heritage, our people, and the service we’re proud to be a part of.

Busy weekend, full hearts, and always proud to serve alongside some pretty incredible Shirts. 💎

🔒 325 MUNS is officially LOCKED IN! 💣

Huge shoutout to the Tyndall Military & Family Readiness Center for stopping by the 325 MUNS Commander’s Call and making sure our Airmen know about the resources and support available to them.

As First Sergeants, connecting our Airmen and families to the right resources is a huge part of what we do — and partnerships like this make that mission even stronger.

People first. Mission always. Stay LOCKED IN. 🔒💪

A special thank you Major Reyes, 325 MUNS/CC, for welcoming us into their Commander’s Call and allowing Mr. Darryl Duverglas to LOCK IN 🔒 the entire unit on M&FRC programs, services, and resources!

We appreciate the opportunity to connect Airmen with the support available to them. 🔒📲
