On the first wave of American troops hitting the beaches of Normandy, 92% were killed, mowed down by relentlessly enemy fire. The second wave saw over 80% of the troops dying on the blood soaked beaches. But thanks to raw perseverance and grit, the Allies overcame those grave initial setbacks and took all five Normandy beaches by nightfall on June 6.
Today take a moment and give thanks to those brave men who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. ✊🏿✊🏽✊🏼✊✊🏾
