Why is the chair such an essential part of any room? It draws you in… invites you to sit, stay, and settle into the moment. You notice it from a distance, yet it quietly disappears once in use.

Designing a chair means balancing more than just form. It starts with comfort. A subtle ease in the vertical stiles, a gentle embrace from the top rail, and a seat that offers real support. We began with a traditional blueprint, one that has stood the test of time for good reason. While variations exist, the essence remains unchanged.

From there, we refined it. A carefully considered the back pitch that allows you to relax while still holding your posture at the table. A curved backrest that creates a cradle effect to hold you in any captivating conversation you were in at that moment.

Crafted from solid mahogany with subtle brass inlays at the joinery, this is our vision of the perfect dining chair.
The Bonnell Chair. - meaning, “good little one”

The Austin Home Design Awards is always such an amazing evening. The city gets together to showcase the best this industry has to offer. Awards aside…Austin is bursting with talent and an incredible community that lifts each other up and supports one another. From architects to interior designers, builders and makers to name a few, I truly love working with y’all and cherish the friendships that have come from it along the way. Today, the day before the awards show, I have a lot of gratitude to share. Gratitude for everyone that has cheered me on along the way. (For the ones that doubted me..you were the ones that really pushed me.) For my late mother who instilled it in me that I can achieve anything if I believe in myself and taught me about the power of visualization. I started with a few hand me down tools and with no experience. Working out of my spare bedroom in Bouldin Creek, I discovered my passion for design and making things with my hands. I never would have thought that my tinkering would have led me into a full blown career where I get to wake up every day and make art… Or be nominated for the award of best custom furniture!! It’s an honor to share the room tomorrow evening with all of you. And congratulations to everyone nominated. That’s an accomplishment in and of itself. Cheers to our beautiful design community. See y’all tomorrow night! Cheers! 🥂
