“Get comfortable with being uncomfortable”. I know only tidbits of history relative to the Cumberland Plateau – the last geographical barrier of the Appalachian chain for European frontiersmen heading west; while being (seemingly) no barrier at all for the 20th century logging and mining industries. I know only tidbits of history relative to the Cumberland Trail. This northern area seems all but abandoned as a foot trail. Pieces of an old trail are evident – occasionally. The area is remote and rugged, but offers a natural, timeless, beauty. Planned resupply point at Pudge’s Used Appliances and Grocery. But, rather than come off the mountain, I would’ve opted to carry enough food to get me to my next resupply point – the CT office at Cove Lake State Park. “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable”. We have openings for trail crew positions, with a preference for full-time roles. Starting pay is $15 per hour.
Workweek is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm Eastern, weather permitting. Current work area: Rhea County.
