There’s a lot to love about the character of an older Martinez home, but the original kitchen storage is usually not one of them.

For this 1930s bungalow kitchen remodel, thoughtful cabinetry design helped us create a much more functional space without taking away the vintage personality of the home.

One of our favorite solutions was wrapping shallow base cabinetry around the corner, creating additional upper storage and making use of space that might otherwise have been lost.

Paired with Starmark Cabinetry, rich wood countertops, a restored antique range and that unforgettable geometric floor, every detail feels intentional, and completely at home in this charming bungalow.

A Fresh New Kitchen in Rossmoor, Walnut Creek

Warm wood tones, deep blue-gray cabinetry, and crisp white quartz give this Rossmoor kitchen and dining remodel a fresh, sophisticated feel.

Designed by Sherry Redler, the space features Eclipse frameless cabinetry, a contrasting kitchen island, matte black accents, and custom dining-area cabinetry for additional storage and display.

A 1930s bungalow gets a second life... without losing its soul.

One of our favorite parts of this Martinez kitchen remodel was preserving the home's vintage character while making it work for the way people live today.

The homeowners fell in love with a geometric floor made famous in Steve Martin's apartment on Only Murders in the Building, and it became the inspiration for the entire space. Combined with a beautifully restored antique range, custom cabinetry, and dramatically improved storage, the finished kitchen feels authentic to the home's history while offering all the conveniences of a modern remodel.

Sometimes the best remodels aren't about making everything new, they're about honoring what made the home special in the first place.

BEFORE & AFTER: Concord Kitchen Remodel

This Concord kitchen went from closed off and dated to bright, open, and designed for everyday living.

By opening up the wall and adding a large custom island, we completely transformed the flow of the home. The homeowners chose a beautiful three-tone cabinet combination using Schrock cabinetry, creating a warm transitional style with modern functionality.
