[PR GIRL IN THE NEWS] 🗞️
Of course, in light of THAT mugshot, everyone (including Donald J. Trump) is cashing in on the opportunity to sell some merch.
Read more from myself, The Lincoln Project co-founder, Reed Galan and others in MarketWatch.
Trump’s mug shot could be a gold mine for his campaign — and for enterprising Etsy sellers "My phone has been going ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching," said one Etsy maker, as Trump's mug shot pops up on T-shirts, coffee mugs, shot glasses and bobbleheads.

Hi! I’m Krysten. I’m a Washingtonian, a publicist and the Founder of KC & Co Communications, a small but mighty PR agency. I’m planning on posting more often on here so I thought I’d introduce myself. 🫶🏽
A few things about me:
✅ I’m passionate about telling the stories that matter and lead to change.
✅ I’m originally from California; Los Angeles to be exact
✅ I have over a decade of experience in comms working for a number of amazing brands.
✅ I’m the oldest of four siblings so I’m used to being a leader 😆
✅ I’ve worked with politicians, nonprofits, tech firms, you name it! I’m industry agnostic but I like to do purpose driven work for purpose driven brands
✅ I love to travel ✈️ and have been to over 20 countries, sometimes solo.
✅ I have an 8 year old … company, that is! Love my job!
✅ KC & Co is now taking on new clients! If you are looking for PR support- that is, getting media coverage for your story or big idea, thought leadership support and refining your message, drop me a line.
✅ Also, down to grab coffee with my connections in order to see if there are any synergies.
Leave a note about how we met below! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

PR Girl Tip #1: I’m going to be dropping at least a tip a week to some of your most pressing PR questions. Today, let’s talk a bit about press coverage. You’ve pitched and pitched your brand and haven’t gotten any bites. What gives? Here are a few things to explore if this is your dilemma:
💡 Do a little research pairing your news with upcoming holidays (I.e. Mental Health Day, Earth Day, etc).
💡Use the current news cycle to include your client’s voice into the narrative. For example, we just landed a client (The Montpelier Foundation) in MSNBC to chat about their efforts to preserve and memorialize the truth about our shared history. We were able to leverage the media narratives on the national level to do so.
💡 Consider updating your media list. If you’re not getting any responses, maybe you’re pitching the wrong people. Take a look at your media list and make appropriate changes. Don’t be shy to reach out to another person at the same outlet if your initial contact hasn’t responded.
💡 Write an op-ed or an letter to the editor (LTE) with your client’s opinion on a specific matter. Again, watch the news cycle to see how to weave your narrative into the local or National landscape.
What tips would you add to the list?
P.S. Ready to leave it to the pros? KC & Co Communications is currently taking on new clients. Feel free to drop me a line for a no obligation consultation- [email protected]
Happy Pitching!
