Live edge or epoxy — which one is yours?
At Stedmans Mill, we build both: solid wood slabs with a natural live edge, and epoxy river tables that keep the wood's character front and center.
Each one is made to order, so you choose the size, wood, and finish that fits your home — not a mass-produced look.

The farm table is having a moment in the DFW Metroplex — and it's not just a trend, it's how people want to live.

As modern farmhouse homes continue to lead new builds across North Texas, more homeowners, designers, and builders are looking for a table that actually matches the home: solid wood, built to gather around, and made to last.

At Stedmans Mill, we build farm tables in that sweet spot — warm and rustic, but not overdone — so you can choose the finish that fits your home, not settle for a mass-produced look.

Which one is yours?
1 — Rustic, about a 5 out of 10
2 — Rustic, about a 6 out of 10
3 — Rustic, about a 7 out of 10
4 — Rustic, about an 8 out of 10

At Stedmans Mill, this is how a log becomes a finished piece:

1. Cut — fresh lumber comes straight off our Wood-Mizer LT15 Wide.
2. Sticker — small sticks between every board let air move through the stack.
3. Dry — time and airflow do the work, so the wood stays stable.
4. Store — dry boards stay covered and stacked neat until they're needed.
5. Finish — then it's ready to become the finished piece.

Good lumber isn't rushed. It's cut, stickered, dried, stored, and only then built into something worth keeping.

This log had quite a bit of rot in it, but you never really know how far that rot travels until you start cutting into it. Luckily, this one wasn’t too far gone. There was still plenty of good wood left to work with, and we were able to turn it into some great coffee tables.

One of the best parts of running the mill is making that first cut and seeing what’s hiding inside. Every log is different—you never really know what kind of grain, color, or figure you’re going to uncover. That little bit of surprise is what keeps the job exciting

This was a fun white oak project for a customer who owns a gym in Waxahachie. The piece itself was designed to hold towels while also hiding some of the mechanical equipment, so we were able to make something functional look like it actually belonged in the space.I also got to hand-paint the gym’s logo, which is always one of my favorite parts when a project allows for it. I really enjoy getting to mix the woodworking with a little design and artwork from time to time.

This walnut is incredibly rare because of both its size and unique figure. The log had five hearts, which contributed to the beautiful grain patterns, colors, and character throughout the slabs. They have now been fully dried and are ready to be transformed into truly one-of-a-kind walnut tables.

This bathroom vanity was a really fun project, mainly because the customer was an absolute blast to work with. She knew exactly what she wanted, had a clear vision for the bathroom, and then gave me the freedom to run with it.
I think the vanity really brought the whole space together. The natural color and character of the Eastern Red Cedar paired with the stone sink created a great balance and gave the bathroom a unique rustic look without going overboard.

A little throwback to our 2025 Quonset hut build. This was a big project and a lot of work, but it was pretty rewarding watching it come together piece by piece.

We built this space to give us more room for woodworking, furniture builds, and all the other projects that seem to keep getting bigger around here. There were definitely a few lessons learned along the way, but that’s usually half the fun of building something yourself.

It’s been great seeing how far the shop has come since then—and even better getting to put it to work.
