Anastasia walks us through what’s in store this fall, Part 2. This time we’re heading to the back of Heirloom.

There’s a sofa you’ll want to sink into, our new game table (mahjong night, anyone?), a recliner that actually looks good, and case goods for storage that doesn’t compromise.

First stop: a new-to-us antique chair we haven’t stopped staring at. From there, a writing desk, a sleeper chair that earns its keep when guests stay over, a table ready for a crowd, and the hosting essentials we’re reaching for all season.

Just in from the south of France. Les Céramiques de Lussan has been making these ceramic guinea fowl since 1974, when Heidi Caillard started sculpting the birds that wandered her garden near Uzès. Her son runs the workshop now, and each bird still passes through more than twenty steps by hand.

No two come out of the box the same. The speckling falls differently, the faces are all slightly their own. Put three on a console and you have a flock.
