The Main Street Workroom

Some jobs just stick with you. 🙌

One of our favorites? Stained Hunter Douglas Heritance® Hardwood Shutters that brought so much warmth and character to the home. The finish pulled the whole space together—and we still talk about it.

If your neighbors can follow your TV show from the sidewalk… we should talk. 👀

Between the lack of privacy, the afternoon glare, and that one crooked blind you keep meaning to replace, your windows might be this year’s Halloween horror story.

Swipe through. See anything familiar? 👻

We’ll help you find custom shades, blinds, and drapery that fit your home—and finally cross “fix the windows” off your list.

DM “BOO” or give us a call to book your consultation.

Your neighbors seem nice. They still don’t need to know what you’re watching tonight. 👀

A shade that looks private during the day can tell a different story once the lights come on. Fabric, lighting, and the room itself all matter.

Swipe before you pick your next set of shades. George & Juli will help you get the light you love—and the privacy you actually want.

We asked George about his pet peeves. Turns out, a glass of water and directions to the bathroom go a long way. 😂

He’s here to install your shades. He’d just prefer not to hold it the entire time.

Brewster may not be the one measuring your windows… but he definitely has opinions. 🐾
Around The Main Street Workroom, good design has to pass the whole-family test — and yes, that includes the dog.
Beautiful window treatments should look great, work with the way you actually live, and make your home feel more like you.
Whether you’re looking for more privacy, better light control, motorization, or just finally ready to finish the room, Juli and George can help you figure out what makes sense for your space.
Brewster will handle quality control. 😂

You don’t necessarily need motorized shades everywhere.
The better question is: Where will they actually improve your everyday life?
Your bedroom? Absolutely. Waking up and having your shades open automatically can completely change your morning routine.
A room with hard-to-reach windows? That’s an easy one.
The spaces you use every single day? Start there.
Maybe the basement, guest room, or kids’ room doesn’t need motorization yet — and that’s okay.
Juli’s advice is simple: start with the needs, then come back for the wants.
You don’t have to motorize the entire house at once. Focus on the rooms where convenience will make the biggest difference.

One of the biggest mistakes Juli sees?
Choosing window treatments based on what the next person might want.
Yes, resale value matters. But you’re the one living there right now.
Choose the fabric you love. Choose the texture that fits your style. Choose the window treatment that makes you happy when you’re sitting there with your coffee every morning.
Your home should feel like your home — not like you’re constantly preparing it for somebody who may live there years from now.
Design for the way you want to live today.
We’ll help you create something that feels right for your home, your style, and your everyday life.

For Juli, there was a moment when The Main Street Workroom stopped feeling like just her business and started feeling like theirs.
It was when George came on full-time.
She saw how much he believed in her, how much he believed in the business, and how passionate he became about what they could build together.
George brought strengths Juli didn’t have — and helped her see a direction for the business that she never imagined on her own.
That partnership changed everything.
Behind the shades, the designs, and the showroom is a family business built by two people who genuinely believe in each other.
And Juli will always be grateful for that.

The holidays are coming… which means it’s time to focus on what really matters.
Making your siblings jealous of your house.
Sure, you could update your shades because they’re beautiful, functional, energy-efficient, and make your home feel finished…
Or you could do it because your family is coming over and you need your house to look better than theirs. 😂
Petty? Maybe.
Worth it? Absolutely.
Get those new shades installed before everyone shows up for the holidays and starts comparing houses.
