🌍 LVL built for door frames: straight stock, consistent thickness.
Door-frame makers lose time and yield when timber twists, splits or varies in thickness. Laminated veneer lumber solves much of that because every layer is engineered, not sawn.

▪ Lengths 2100 / 2400 mm
▪ Core: Eucalyptus (Grade AB) or Mixed Hardwood (Grade ABC)

🔥Most film-faced plywood problems are discovered on site. By then, the container has already been paid for.
Delamination after the first few pours means stopped work, replacement panels, and a claim that can take months to settle. For a building-material distributor, it also means explaining the problem to a contractor who trusted your stock.

At FOMEX, quality is not self-reported by the factory. Every production batch passes through two independent QC layers before export release:
Layer 1: The partner factory's QC team carries out hands-on inspection at every stage of production.
Layer 2: FOMEX Group's QC Department, which sits outside the factory's reporting line, reviews that work, runs its own spot checks, and, where required, carries out parallel testing.

Both layers cover the same four checkpoints. For film-faced plywood, the last two matter most:
- Pre-shipment testing: finished panels are tested for glue bond strength (boil test), formaldehyde emission, thickness, and surface appearance against the order specification.
- Container loading: stacking, strapping, and moisture barriers are supervised and photographed for every shipment file, then confirmed by our QC Department before the container is sealed.
Shipment release is authorized only after the independent check is complete. What you approve on paper is what arrives on site.

🚪 Door frames rarely fail on installation day. The problem shows up months later, once humidity has had time to work on the timber - and by then, it's not a warranty claim. It's a customer who quietly moves to a different supplier on their next order.

Solid wood doesn't move the way a spec sheet promises. Grain runs differently through every board, so once a frame is hung and finished, there's no clean fix - just a site visit nobody budgeted for. And that bill goes to the manufacturer whose name is stamped on the piece, not whoever cut the log.

🪵 That's the problem LVL solves by design rather than luck. Layers of veneer, cross-laminated instead of following one grain direction, cancel out the irregularities that make solid timber twist. Moisture is checked on the veneer itself before it's ever pressed, then again on the finished panel - the factory's own QC does the grading, and FOMEX Group's QC Department verifies it independently. That keeps moisture under 15% throughout. Lengths run up to 5m, so full-frame components don't need finger-jointing.

The first plywood sheet runs perfectly through the CNC.
The third plywood sheet from the same order doesn't.

🔥That's the part a spec sheet never shows.

A sample can pass every test in isolation. But if moisture content or thickness drifts between production runs, the manufacturer finds out mid-batch — on their own line, with machines already calibrated to the wrong tolerance.

FOMEX controls for that gap directly: moisture and thickness are checked batch to batch, not just at the sample stage.
🔍 In practice, that means:
- Moisture held under 15%, verified batch to batch
- Thickness tolerance checked before container loading
- Veneer consistency reviewed per production lot, not per sample

For furniture and interior manufacturers, this is what separates a supplier from a long-term source: not one good sheet, but the same plywood, order after order.

📄 The EU published an updated guidance document on July 2026, clarifying what counts as valid due diligence documentation for wood products under EUDR.
Two points stood out: full species names (not just "mixed hardwood") are now the expected standard, and certification supports your due diligence file, it does not replace it.
Our plywood comes with named core species (Acacia, Eucalyptus, Styrax), FSC-COC certification, and the documentation behind it, ready on request.
