After successfully logging a concession in Central America, we were presented with the opportunity to work with the 14 comarcas of the Kuna Madugandi tribe. Recovering trees that would otherwise be lost decreases the need to log resources on land. The careful and time-consuming process by which these logs are harvested one at a time does not disturb the natural environment because of the strict environmental controls employed. For instance, the roots of the trees are left untouched at the lake bottom. Even the saws which we use are run with a vegetable oil so as not to pollute the waters. We have chain of custody (CoC) on all species and FSC Certified – the highest environmental certification available.
