elpis&wood works with a simple mission in mind; design, build and donate. the greek word “elpis” means more than simply “hope”, but "the desire for something good with full expectation of obtaining it." we make beautiful, unique and practical handcrafted furniture using salvaged, upcycled or reclaimed materials whenever possible. We are proud to offer unique and useful works of decor art that go beyond function and extend hope to others. hope begins its work as we donate a portion of sales proceeds to local non-profits and offer employment to marginalized and disenfranchised young adults in snohomish county.

Look at that handsome guy....I mean mirror! This was a leftover piece from our clients dining table. We made a mirror for them. Consider the wonder of the beautiful, created world or consider the soul behind the eyes in the mirror. The world runs deep with beauty & meaning.

Black Walnut Standing Desk for David! One of the more fascinating customers I've had the privilege of chatting with. We had a long conversation about Olive Oil and the difficulty of being a small business. Big Companies tend to drive us little folk out of business as they flood the American market with ultra-cheap or even fake alternatives. As this year comes to a close I wanted to say thank you to our faithful customers. We depend on you. This year has been rough but we are hanging in there. We will need to move back to our original location in Marysville in the next month but we are riding on a high wave as business has picked back up over the last several months.
If you are interested in "real" olive oil I suggest checking out Davids website.

The client made their own legs and I have to admit was skeptical! I have to say I am surprised and think it looks great! What do you think?
