De Castelli DeCastelli’s distinctive trait is love
for materials.

Faithful to its decision to reinstate the special role of metal in design and experimentation, De Castelli infuses artisan ideas and workmanship into industrial processes, leading to entirely original results. LA VISIONE
Nella vita di ogni Azienda, come nella
vita di ogni uomo, ci sono momenti
in cui la voglia di novità potrebbe
confondersi con insoddisfazione
del presente. Invece tale sentimento
qualifica un profondo amore e rispetto
per la propria storia,
le proprie origini, che si perdono in
epoche antiche, quando i materiali, le
lavorazioni e le idee ad esse connesse
rappresentavano un unicum fatto di
braccia e cervello.
realizzazione finale. La passione per
i materiali rappresenta l’aspetto più
evidente di DeCastelli, non sono solo
le lavorazioni, sempre più sofisticate,
a calamitare l’interesse dell’Azienda,
ma una ricerca costante in cui si scava
all’interno dell’essenza stessa del ferro
e dei suoi derivati, in cui ogni molecola
è in grado di svelare esiti inattesi,
producendo una miriade di varianti,
che fanno l’unicità di ogni singolo
prodotto. THE VISION
In the life of each firm, as in the life
of each man, there are times when
the desire for new things might be
confused with a sense of dissatisfaction
for the present. On the contrary, such a
feeling connotes deep love and respect
for history and origins: once upon a
time when materials, manufacturing,
and ideas represented a combination
of arms and brain. All this represents a strong attitude
that would not stop at the mere
surface of objects, but would rather dig
into their soul in order to grasp their
secrets, hidden in their very deepest,
inaccessible essence. In the last years,
a perfect fusion between design and
technology has made possible to
produce far-from-serial, unique objects:
the result of highly refined craft and
of scrupulous attention, from their
conception to their final realization. But ever more refined
manufacturing is not the Company’s
only concern; DeCastelli is also devoted
to constant research, aimed at the
excavation of the real essence of
iron and iron derivatives, where each
particle can lead to surprising results
and produce a multitude of variations,
all adding to the product’s uniqueness.

In Striped DeLabré copper, chance and control remain equally visible.

Oxidation releases unpredictable variations; manual brushing introduces direction and measure. Their balance shifts with each form, revealing how a surface can shape the identity of an object and guide the way it is perceived.

Every city holds a chromatic memory. In the Speicherstadt District project in Hamburg, this memory lives in the subtle red tones of the brickwork, shaped by the gradual oxidation of copper over time.

MARKETSTUDIOS carries this identity into the interior, where the DeMarea finish gathers these tones and returns them through the ever-changing depth of its surface.

A continuity between architecture and matter, shaped by metal’s ability to hold time and transform it into expression.

Light meets matter, revealing unexpected possibilities.
Eos, Eon and Eto interpret Caleide through three distinct balances of form and metal. Stainless steel, brass and copper unfold around the opaline bulb: a luminous core embraced by the surfaces, which multiply its light and return it through ever-changing reflections.

In interior design, metal acts as punctuation: defining surfaces, emphasising transitions and introducing pauses of light.

Its decorative value emerges from the measured way it enters architecture, bringing chromatic depth, tactile quality and new relationships between materials.
Function and expression become a single language, completing the space and enriching its perception through the quiet elegance of matter.

A surface can define a space while opening the gaze towards somewhere beyond.
In Painting, the screen becomes a threshold and oxidation takes on the role of pigment. Copper, brass and stainless steel compose a landscape rooted in matter before becoming image: tones emerge through the transformation of metal, retaining their depth and shifting with the light.

Between painting, object and stage design, Painting introduces an imaginary horizon into the space, suspended and ever-changing.

Essentiality is a form of concentration. Elizabeth Console builds its identity through a few essential elements. Polished metal reflects the surrounding space, while the side doors open to reveal generous lacquered wood shelves.

The act of opening brings the luminosity of the exterior into relation with the more intimate depth within: two complementary moments of the same form.

Elizabeth dresses the strength of metal in unexpected grace. Fold after fold, the material takes on the rhythm of a pleated garment, suspended between tension and movement.

Created as part of Tracing Identity, the research project that invited seven women designers to develop seven singular interpretations of metal, Elizabeth expresses a distinctly feminine vision, where elegance becomes the language through which matter takes shape and reveals itself.

In Elizabeth Sideboard, the fold becomes a generative principle. It articulates the volume and guides light across the surface, revealing reflections that shift with the gaze. The solidity of the metal sheet takes on the visual cadence of pleated fabric: a measured transformation in which geometric precision reveals an unexpected lightness within the metal.

Architecture is dressed in metal.

With Plissé, the sartorial language of pleating unfolds across the surface. A dense, regular pattern extends through space like a garment, bringing together the precision of design and the fluidity of movement.

Tonal depth emerges from within the material, bearing the traces of time and transformation.

This moodboard explores the encounter between the natural oxidation of metal and layered processes. Stainless steel, brass and copper each respond according to their own nature, revealing ever-changing tones, clouded effects and depths.

Finishing thus becomes a way of understanding the material: revealing the character of each metal and extending its expressive possibilities.
