Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the conference in Johannesburg. We spent two days learning and connecting with South Africa’s inspiring community of makers and storytellers.
A standout moment for us was hearing speak. Hearing her speak about her journey, her craft, and her commitment to empowering women through her co-operative reminded us of the importance of preserving tradition while creating opportunities for others.
We were also in awe of her beautiful work, which continues to celebrate and elevate Ndebele culture while reminding us of the importance of preserving tradition and creating opportunities for others.
We were also inspired by , who shared a moving journey of heritage, healing, and future-facing design through his ceramic practice, a beautiful reminder of how creativity can tell stories and shape identity.
The conference was a perfect mix of learning and doing. With both the MAKEshops, and masterclasses bringing craft to life, showing how traditional techniques can be combined with innovative approaches to spark new ideas.
A proud highlight for us was showcasing our Heritage Collection, a true reflection of our story and identity.
