Mies van der Rohe’s legacy is undisputed – from chairs to skyscrapers, this designer has left an indelible mark on the design world. The Barcelona Pavilion was designed by Mies and Lilly Reich for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, Spain. It also showcased the celebrated Barcelona Chair, an iconic piece that has reached cult status and remains as fresh and contemporary today as when it was released more than 90 years ago.

If there is a chair that can be said to be the archetype of most modern dining chairs, it is the Eames series of shell chairs. The name, DSW, is a description of the chair itself, and stands for “Dining height, Side chair, Wood Base (or legs)” An unprecedented chair for its time, by virtue of the use of innovative materials in different combinations, and still highly revered and desired for its versatility, the Eames chairs are timeless icons of functional minimalism.
