Hi, I’m Alcora du Plessis — an experienced fashion designer, buyer, and strategic project manager with over 22 years’ experience in the South African fashion retail industry.

From garment design and patternmaking to senior buying roles and leading high-profile projects (including Project Runway SA), my career has always been rooted in how clothing is made — properly.

Through Make it & Take it, I now share this experience by offering individual and small-group sewing lessons, from beginner to advanced. My focus is on technique, fit, professional finishes, and truly understanding how garments work, so you can sew with confidence on your own machine.
