I just want to say, congratulations to President Musk and Trump Junior for reinstalling Apartheid values (but on a much grander scale) in a "Promised Land is White" invitation to all the left-over Afrikaner white supremacists from South-Africa.
I must say, we've been struggling for years now to get them sent somewhere but in one foul swoop you've managed to invite all of them Mahala, for free and for nothing.

To my friends in America that aren't white supremacists, I apologize for the individuals that will be coming to you now.
But it's also kinda your fault for not paying attention. The US didn't just become what it is now, overnight.
As a consolation I would like to invite all your q***r, wonderful, free-thinking, free-spirited and genuine love beings to SA. 🙂💚

with Join us for the opening of ‘flower’, a group exhibition opening on the 16th of November (10h00-13h00).

The exhibition invite did not offer a conventional brief to guide artists in the making of their work, but instead NO END created a physical prompt for artists to respond to. Artists collected the prompt without prior knowledge of the form of the prompt or exhibition theme. The prompt revolved around the theme ‘flower’, which also informs the title of the exhibition.

The exhibition sets out to evaluate to what extent the curatorial brief can truly ‘direct’ an artist’s work, considering if the ‘curatorial’ has become so broadly obtuse, that any work can be submitted to theme.

All artists were thus required to produce new work towards the exhibition, specifically created in response to the received prompt.

Exhibiting artists include:

AMÉ BELL
ANASTASIA PATHER
AYOBOLA KEKERE-EKUN
BRETT RUBIN
BEEZY FLYBYNYT
FREDERICK CLARKE
GIVAN LOTZ
IO MAKANDAL + SAMANTHA MCCULLOCH

Very excited for the upcoming Wêreld event on 6 September at Kleinevalleij Estate in the Cape Winelands, hosted by Karen Zoid and Jaco van der Merwe. With 170+ artworks on display and up for auction, by 70+ mid-career and established artists, it is bound to be a night for the books. There is art-viewing and walkabouts happening from 16:00-18:00, with the official auction starting at 18:00.

We are incredibly excited to partner with Old Johannesburg Warehouse auctioneers on this event, as the auction will simultaneously be happening live and online, through the OJW mobile app, to ensure that online bids are synced with live bidding happening at the event.  We are excited about this hybrid bidding process as it opens the bidding up to anyone who is unable to attend in person.

with I am really excited to be participating in the The Art Room Print Fair in September 2024.

The Art Room invited several printmaking studios and independent artists to fill boxes and browsers with wrapped artworks for you to rummage through.
Expect to see new works, including the launch of a rare Blessing Ngobeni print by The Arts Company, as well as older, discounted works for those on a tighter budget.

The Print Fair opens on Saturday, 31 August from 10:00 - 15:30 and runs until 28 September during regular business hours at The Art Room, 4th Avenue, Parkhurst.

with We are looking forward to our next exhibition ’Joy as defiance’ which is hosted in collaboration with and in support of Family 404’s initiative. The exhibition opens on the 24th of August and we will share more information and glimpses leading up to the opening.

Family 404 is an initiative by Nina Torr and Stephan Calitz that explores Ambiguous Loss - Grief for the Living. Their mission is to share memories, create art, and offer resources and financial relief for fragmented families, beginning with their own. Visit their site at family404.org to learn more.

During the course of the exhibition, a series of workshops and talks will be hosted in order to establish further dialogue on the topic of Ambiguous Loss and to use art as an avenue for dialogue, sharing of joy and as a means of positive defiance.

Soon! ♥️

with NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
I will be participating in the Wêreld Fair & Art Auction!
A fundraising event for the purpose of developing artist retreat spaces in South Africa, hosted by Wêreld Public Benefit Organisation in partnership with No End Contemporary Art Space.

NO END has committed to supporting Wêreld (NGO) in fundraising for the development of an ‘artist’s retreat’. Wêreld currently owns a number of beautiful plots and sites around South Africa. They are now looking to fundraise to build infrastructure in order to open the spaces up for artist residencies throughout the year.  As an official partner and supporter of Wêreld Retreats, NO END will receive a minimum of a dedicated fortnight for a related artist to take up residency - of our choosing - annually. This, for us, contributes to creating opportunities for artists research, development and exploration.

The fundraiser takes the form of an auction in Centurion on 11 August  (organised in liaison with Karen Zoid). NO END is acting as an official supporting partner for the initial fundraising event, and is responsible for curating the auction line up. (This event will be followed up by a Cape Town version of the Centurion fundraiser).

This work is one of the works of mine that will be up for auction:

with What an ABSOLUTE blast we had this past weekend seeing all your wonderful faces and opening our united exhibition with all the fellow printmakers who have supported us over the past 7 years. Be sure to pop in over the coming weeks and be amazed at the diversity of techniques used and superb quality of the prints.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all your support expressed by visiting our shows over the years. We are ever so thankful to be a part of a community across South Africa that loves print just as much as we do.

Thanks also to for the great photographs to document the occasion!
