“Slowing down” is not always just old age. 🐾

Did you know that up to 80% of dogs over the age of 8 and cats over the age of 10 may suffer from osteoarthritis?

Many senior pets silently live with chronic pain for months or even years before it is recognised. Signs can be subtle:
• Sleeping more
• Hesitating to jump into the car or onto the couch
• Stiffness after resting
• Slower walks
• Struggling with stairs
• Becoming less playful or more irritable

The good news? A LOT can be done to improve their comfort and quality of life. ❤️

Modern arthritis management has come a long way and may include:
✔ Weight management
✔ Joint-support diets and supplements
✔ Pain control medication
✔ Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy
✔ Monthly arthritis injections
✔ Lifestyle adjustments at home

Our goal is not just to help pets live longer — but to help them live comfortably and happily for as long as possible.

If you’ve noticed your older dog slowing down, book a check-up. Early intervention can make a remarkable difference. 🐶

Meet Luke, Chewy, Vader and Hildi! These 4 pups were surrendered to a welfare organisation at just 3 weeks old and were fostered by Dr Marianna and the team at Vets at Home in 2023. All four of them crept deep into our hearts... three of them were adopted by our wonderful and generous clients with big hearts, and Luke was adopted by Dr Marianna! Each of them went from having an uncertain future to a life of luxury!
