Mobile Butterflies Collection

MOBILE BUTTERFLIES COLLECTION, is composed of over 500 not endangered specimens from around the world, all in perfect conditions thoroughly selected. All of them are positioned in 10 large frames 65 X 85 cm. Below each one of them, is written its own scientific name and place of origin. The collection includes very nice and interesting ones, like blu and owl butterflies from South America, the famous migrant butterfly "Monarch" Danaus plexippus, leaf butterflies from Asia, endemic specimens such Urania ripheus and Hypolimnas dexithea from Madagascar. Furthermore, beautiful moths like Attacus atlas, one of the biggest of the world, Thysania agrippina, the biggest of South America, and comet moth, Argema mittrei, with long tails from Madagascar. Acherontia atropos, (death' head howk moth) in the Sphingidae family, occurs in Eurasia and Africa. It has the ability to emit a loud squeak if irritated. Become famous by the film "The Silence Of The Lambs"

Argema mittrei, (Comet moth, Saturnidae family) is native to the rain forest of Madagascar. The adult moth cannot feed and only lives for 4- 5 days.

Thysania agrippina, is a moth in the Erebidae family. Its wingspan can reach 27-28 cm. It can be found from Mexico, Central and South America.

Attacus atlas, (Atlas moth) found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southern Asia, is considered one of the great butterfly of the world. It can reach 30 cm. of wingspan.
