It's voting day so do the right thing, pack your WIP, vote and then join us on the veranda for a glass or 2 of delicious De Trafford Wines at 11am with pizza shortly thereafter. R450 per person. Some moody mohair love (and some facts) for you today.

Did you know that South Africa produces the most mohair in the world, accounting for roughly 50% to 56% of global production! We produce 3.6 to 4.5 million kilograms. Primarily farmed in the Eastern Cape in the Karoo region.

The USA comes in 2nd with mohair coming from Texas.

Lesotho also a big contributor with smaller amounts coming from Turkey, Argentina and Australia.

As you can see it is very important that you follow Joy's instructions when crocheting. Look at her petite very neat blue & purple Granny Square. My free range square had to be hidden.

I can't wait to learn all the crochet tricks: The basic Granny Square, a more elaborate Granny Square and 2 ways to join Granny Squares. A rather cute and practical project that we are keeping a bit of a secret will be the main focus.
