ReVived Rustic Charm

You would have seen pieces like these along the roadside in many towns, made by local craftsmen in a wonderfully rustic style and they have the character that comes with it.

They were originally painted black by the first owner. After being carefully sanded back, they have been given a beautiful Green/Grey Sage finish that makes them right for a more modern home.

The original craftsmanship has not been hidden. The little imperfections and handmade details remain, adding to their story, while a touch of ReVived magic has given them a whole new lease on life....

🩵COMMISSION PIECE🩵

This extra-large coffee table came to me as a commission, with my clients dreaming of a beautiful natural raw wood finish.

Well... the table had other ideas. 😅

Once I started stripping and sanding, the veneer top got a little angry and made it very clear it wasn't going to cooperate! Since the top wasn't solid wood, it was time for Plan B.

Together, we decided on a gorgeous painted top in a charcoal grey that blends beautifully with their lounge, while leaving the solid wood edging and turned legs in a natural raw wood finish. The contrast gives the table warmth, character and a fresh new lease on life.

One thing I've learnt with furniture restoration is that every piece has its own personality... and sometimes they let you know who's in charge! Thankfully, this one turned out beautifully in the end.

This sweet little chest of drawers has been given a fresh new lease on life as a special commission.

The vision was to keep the beauty of the timber front and centre, so I refinished it in a natural raw wood finish that showcases the character and grain of the wood. I also carefully cleaned and restored the original hardware, bringing it back to an almost brand-new finish while preserving its classic charm.

These ReVived bedside tables began their journey as a classic Dolly Varden kidney-shaped dresser. Carefully split and reimagined, they were customised to complement an existing headboard and the room’s colour palette.

Created especially for a dear friend, this project is a true reflection of how timeless furniture can be transformed into something both functional and meaningful.
