In the last few weeks at Albury Women's Shed, we have:
* had a visit from Corowa And District SHE Shed Inc and shared our reindeer making secrets !!!
* welcomed our newest member intake
* started on creating products for our November market
* enjoyed a social lunch for members
* ran a successful fundraising Bunnings BBQ
* participated in the Cancer Council Daffodil Day
* shared some special events with our co-shedders the Thurgoona Mens Shed

Albury Women's Shed is a successful recipient of the 2026 PEOPLE OF POST Grant program.

The $2,000 grant enabled Albury Women’s Shed to host our
JOINING TECHNIQUES FOR BASIC FURNITURE MAKING WORKSHOP, where the participants built a Heirloom Box featuring a Marquetery inlay lid.

The workshops were conducted over five weeks and attended by sixteen of our woodworking members. Members expanded their skills across a variety of equipment, learnt multiple new woodworking & joinery techniques and had great fun.

This ongoing skills development enables our members to:
• increase their woodworking capabilities for personal projects,
• pass on the skills learnt to fellow Shed members,
• enable AWS to provide assistance to the local community organisations we support via various projects and activities, and
• support our fundraising efforts by increasing our capacity and skill to create & produce items for sale to support the sustainability of our organisation.

The Carevan Foundation were happy to accept some warm rugs, beanies and scarves - created by our members using wool and materials donated to the Albury Women's Shed.

5:30 Sign in - 5:45 Welcome & Information Session - 6.15 Shed Tour.
If you choose to become a Member, you must complete the compulsory Occupational Health & Safety Induction Training on 15 July 2026 5:30pm or 17 July2026 at 10:00am (no alternate dates available). This session is mandatory for all Members and must be completed prior to commencing activities at the shed.

Repurposing corrugated iron sheeting has never been so much fun!

Some of our Committee were hosted today by our friends at Corowa And District SHE Shed Inc.

These talented women shared their skills and techniques with us so we can pass on the tips and tricks for this new project to our members.

We had so much fun making these beautiful metal Flowers ! and thanks for the delicious lunch !
