Tilba Cellar Door for Patina Projects

Saw tooth Spotted Gum, solid timber arch, custom steel panic bolt and bracing, finished with hand forged hardware from an English Blacksmith.

Being a cool room the door was thermally insulated in the core with a raven auto seal when closed. Tricky project due to the size, weight and a first for me. This will age and patina over time to suit the surrounds.

Old Orange 🍊 is just about to hit 600k kms and just been called up to help with another log harvest. We have had our moments but I thought it still deserves a post.

Sustainability and salvaging has always been a fundamental part of Mayde Furniture. Stay tuned over the coming months as we really push our focus into milling and sourcing local fallen timbers to keep our costs stable and minimal impact on Forests.

Probably the craziest start to whats looking like another challenging year. I have been flat out on a range of custom projects and my stock items. Bespoke items can be tricky to navigate in terms of costs and lead times so I was excited to work on these 2 Side Stash units.

Progress shot of this very large Blackwood display cabinet. With traditional flooring but a modernised kitchen in the vicinity I keep the design simple and streamlined with no overly detailed mouldings. Blackend brass pulls and some shelving to go.
