NEW WORKS New Works presents a collection at the intersection between old and new. Light and dark. Design and art.

Our work pays homage to the strong Scandinavian history of craftsmanship and materiality, whilst challenging the contemporary forms of today. Through collaboration with International acknowledged designers, we add a spice to our scandinavian heritage, which we respect, but want to challenge. Our approach is heavily influenced by our experiments with natural materials and geometric forms, giving our work a nice sculptural touch. We strive to build objects that are not just comfortable to sit in, but also interesting to look at.

A STUDY 003, Piece 04 by Agnieszka Owsiany

Among Agnieszka Owsiany’s treasured possessions is jewellery inherited from her great-great-grandmother. There is also a ring made from wire and cord, exchanged during a make-believe wedding at a childhood camp. Some of these pieces have monetary value; others virtually none. To Owsiany, the distinction hardly matters.

This became the premise for her commission for A STUDY: a vessel for the treasures we gather over a lifetime.

Working with a master blacksmith, Owsiany began experimenting with black steel and a traditional hand-operated press. Under its force, the pre-formed metal buckled, developing unexpected folds, curves and protrusions. In those accidental movements, she recognised the beginnings of the object.Rather than correcting the deformation, Owsiany made it part of the design. The folds became handles, their thickness and edges refined by hand forging. Steel, chosen for its strength and permanence, revealed an unlikely softness. Fittingly for an object made to safeguard the things we carry through life, the vessel bears its own traces of making: pressure, resistance and the marks of the hands that shaped it — a treasure in its own right, conceived with a sense of permanence, to be kept and passed on.

Meet the Creative: Ali Shah Gallefoss for A STUDY 003

With a background in luxury fashion, Norwegian artist and designer Ali Shah Gallefoss has developed a practice spanning furniture, sculpture and functional objects. Guided by curiosity and a playful approach to materials, his work often takes shape through experimentation rather than a predetermined outcome.

For A STUDY 003, he revisits a stone sculpture made for a solo exhibition in 2025, using the drill marks left in its surface as moulds for molten pewter. Through a process of casting, testing and rearranging, a series of hooks gradually emerged. Part intention and part accident, the objects reflect his belief in allowing function to reveal itself through making.

For A STUDY 003, Sarah Emilie Müllertz explores silver through the memory of beach stones she has collected over the years. Drawing on her practice as a jewellery designer, she turned the precious metal not for its permanence alone, but for its capacity to change. Its fluid, almost watery surface recalls a stone beneath the sea, while oxidation and scratches gradually record the passage of time. Shaped after a stone she once brought home, the silver box becomes a meeting between the natural and the handmade, where value lies as much in the material as in the memories it comes to hold.

Meet the Creative: Sarah Emilie Müllertz for A STUDY 003

Sarah Emilie Müllertz has always been drawn to architecture at its most intimate scale. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, the Danish designer found in jewellery a way to bring architecture closer to the body; small constructions carried through life, gathering memories and meaning along the way.

Her practice is guided by curiosity and a strong sense of intention, shaped by contemporary art, literature and architecture, and by an enduring interest in what the world leaves with us, and what we leave behind.

Coming Soon: Nebra Floor Lamp

The art of living with design lies as much in how we interact with objects as in the objects themselves. The Nebra family explores this through a simple, adaptable design. Its adjustable shade allows for subtle shifts in both form and function, changing the direction of the light and the lamp's expression in a single movement.
