Sunday Service

In the Arundel area, we have the most beautiful, small, ancient churches—hidden down country lanes in quiet villages and hamlets, their doors always unlocked during the day.

Many remain without electricity, with winter services lit entirely by candlelight.

Elsa and I pop in as we pass by on our morning meanderings.

She always wants to go in...
.. sits patiently by the door with a pleading look on her face.

The interors are so peaceful.. it’s hard to tear ourselves away.

This 11th-century beauty is easily one of our favourites.

We walk over fields from Arundel, through woodland, and cross a tiny bridge built by a Gurkha regiment to get there.

Beautiful Sussex....

We live and work in the beautiful, historic town of Arundel, West Sussex in the south of England.

Castle and cathedral on the skyline, river meandering through...
.. a recorded history dating to 1066.

Oldest occupied house?
Around 15th century.

Artists aplenty.
Music.
Theatre.

Well, you get the picture?
It's an extraordinary place.

Us?
We sell English and French antique furniture...and our own style of upcycling...in an 18th century warehouse down a little sidestreet.

Although hidden away......
...our upcycled furniture took us by invitation

to the giddy heights of the Liberty London store in 2016...where we had the run of their top floor for 3 extraordinary years

Imagine that....in an old brewery warehouse, off the beaten track..... and then catapaulted into one of the most prestigious stores in the world

Where did October just go?

It flew by

Elsa and I walked each morning, soaking in the peaceful autumn air.

We had the most gorgeous French furniture arrive—not by themselves, of course, but brought by our lovely French friend Patrice, who always includes gifts of red w**e and crêpes with his delivery.

Nass revamped our warehouse.

We spent time working on upcycling and breathing new life into special pieces.

To top it all off, we were visited by some of our favourite US trade clients

The sea, not far, on one side...rolling downland on the other.

You can walk mile upon mile with scenery that will take your breathe away....

Before starting the upcycling work each morning ...I pull on the walking boots..set off with my four legged chum..

and escape the world's noise...

Just for a little while...

Beats working for a living...

Tucked away in our old Arundel warehouse you'll find English and French antique and vintage furniture.

Here's a dip into the old place...

You will find us hidden away behind Arundel Co-op.

We also upcycle.
Source pieces in need of TLC.

Mostly 1930's.

Maybe a Victorian chest that's in need of love.

Vintage pots and buckets.

We paint...

Mostly black with a hint of gold.
Then decorate with decoupage using 19th century images.
Finish with aging varnish.

It's uplifting spending time on an item that was heading for the skip..
... turn it into something a little more special...

See it appear in a glossy magazine ..posh shop..or high end advert with a celebrity....

Beats working for a living....
