Originally designed to hold books and display treasured objects, its generous proportions make it a striking bookshelf or display cabinet for today’s home. The narrow, centrally set doors are typical of Qinghai furniture, as are the original paintings, which show various prized flower vases, bronzes and scholaraly objects to denote the status of the owner.

Many thanks to our customer Lisa for sending in this photo of her antique sideboard, now installed in its new home. Made from elm wood in the original dark finish, the sideboard has the heavy brass hardware distinctive of China's port city of Tianjin and dates to the late 19th century. It now has a new lease of life in Lisa's living room.
