A lovely day at Abbotsford! 🚶🚶‍♀️

Today a group of patients joined Walk It for a walk around Abbotsford. They enjoyed the scenery and fresh air, and it was a positive step in their recovery.

It was also a chance to find out about local groups and clubs where they can meet others. Walk It is a free health-walking programme across the Scottish Borders, with short, low-level walks open to all ages and abilities.

Thank you to Richard for leading the walk, and to the other Walk It walkers for such a warm welcome. 💚

Want to join a walk near you? Contact the Walk It coordinator on 01835 825070 or [email protected].

🍂 Out and about in Selkirk! 🍂

This week, patients from Huntlyburn enjoyed a lovely walk around The Haining in Selkirk. The weather was kind to us, and everyone took in the views over the loch and the beautiful autumn colours.

Time outdoors is a great boost for both body and mind, and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fresh air and scenery together. 🌳🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Thank you to everyone who joined in.

A fabulous arts and crafts group at Huntlyburn today! 🎨

Our patients enjoyed making their very own keyrings, choosing from rubber balls and glass beads, putting plenty of thought into colour coordination. The creativity on show was brilliant, and everyone should be proud of what they made.

Well done to all involved! 👏👏👏

A beautiful deer spotted wandering through the grounds, perfectly at home among the autumn colours. Nature really does have a way of brightening the day. 🧡

🍂 Autumn Scavenger Hunt 🍂

This week our patients enjoyed a Mindfulness Scavenger Hunt around the grounds, searching for crunchy leaves, red berries and enjoying the cool breeze along the way. Simple moments, big benefits: grounding, calm, and connection with nature. 🧡🍁

Today, our patients enjoyed a therapeutic session in our Space to Grow Garden, where they carefully picked a selection of fresh flowers and transformed them into beautiful floral arrangements.

This calming activity encouraged creativity, mindfulness, and a sense of achievement, while providing an opportunity to connect with nature and one another. Each arrangement was unique, reflecting the care, imagination, and pride that went into creating it.

The finished displays have added colour and warmth to the ward, and our patients were proud to showcase their wonderful work. A lovely reminder of how spending time in nature can support well-being and brighten everyone’s day. 🌼😀
