The Power of Resilience CIC

The Power of Resilience CIC is a non-profit Christian ethos initiative building resilience. Welcome to The Power of Resilience CIC. Glad you can join us today.

This initiative was started as a response to a heart-felt need to see those in the communuty build up their resilience and strength, especially during the 'unprecedendented' times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our Executive Director, Julie Mallinson, has lived-experienced of ongoing trauma and crisis over a number of years, emotionally, mentally and physically and have to 'press through' and develop resilience, picking herself up time and time again from rock bottom and reinventing and rebuilding her life. She had so many people say 'I don't know how you do it?'

As she shares some of her story and hope through workshops, training and events, she brings hope for the here and now and the future too.

We are absolutely honoured that Pauline Town MBE will be opening our 5th community pantry on Monday!

Pauline never uses her dignatory title, but every single day she earns it with her unceasing work with those who are on the edge of poverty! We salute you Pauline for the work you do day in day out. You are an inspiration and a comrade in arms!

We hope you will support the new pantry and Pauline on Monday as she opens our new food distribution point with Emma Jones • Ashton Waterloo!

In collaboration with Emma Jones • Ashton Waterloo of Perry Jones Funeral Services, The Power of Resilience CIC is launching Waterloo Community Pantry!! This is the 5th in our network of pantries across Tameside and was built by the wonderful tutors at Tameside College!

Hi everyone! We are looking to set up a crisis response group who can help out in our community kitchen and services in local emergencies. This could include anything from floods, localised hurricanes 🙄, fires (eg moorland fires) , evacuation from areas, mass long term power outages etc.

If you are interested in being involved in a core group to help us be crisis ready please get in touch.

Want to take part is some activities this half term that are Autumn rather than Halloween focussed?

The Power of Resilience CIC is proud to be part of the team bringing you Chadwick Dam Cooking Forest!

We'll be part of the pumkin family day on Friday, but also the bat boxes and tree planting with Good Earth Community and Andreea Marinescu will also be marvellous!

Get out in the fresh air and enjoy the space around our community this week!

However we are cooking at Ridge Hill Baptist Church on Friday 30th October.

A huge thank you to Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service for bringing heaps of mince pies towards the outreach for the homeless, short-term accommodation individuals and rough sleepers for Christmas!

We'll get these delivered to Pauline Town over the next few days along with any further donations!
