Gorgeous green Buxus bubbles glowing in the evening light 🟢🌤️🍃

I’ve hand-clipped this cloud design in May for the last few years allowing it to fully heal before the ongoing heat of the summer months.

It’s wonderful to see it looking so well and still holding form as we head into the autumn months 🍃🍂🍃

October…..previously the month scheduled in for a secondary clip on this Buxus parterre 🍃

For the 2nd year on the trot following a long, hot, dry summer this design has remained in great form, with minimal fresh growth hence the autumn clip has again been postponed to early June 2027 ☀️

This recently hand-clipped Phillyrea cloud tree is looking very healthy following another demanding summer ☀️

I’ve seen several Phillyrea in various forms looking fantastic this year, certainly one to consider for future longevity in the garden 🌳☁️🍃

On the flip side of yesterday’s post featuring the organic yew in the perimeter, a formal garden design planted beautifully with a drought tolerant planting scheme by www.kellyrosewalkergardendesign.com

Formal yew parterres clipped to bring structure to this scheme, measured at 60cm wide /70cm high to keep these low hedges systemising this delicate planting design 🌳🌸💚

A 100 year old taxus hedge in accordance with the property age, clipped in August.

This hedge has undergone several ongoing transformations over several years to reimagine it as a more organic form in accordance with a formal garden design that has been completed this year.

Taking its original form with sharp cut angular sides and an apex top to a softer more flowy sculpture.

Having monitored its growth rate over the last 3 years we will now be postponing the annual trim to winter when this particular hedge will be dormant, and under less stress from the summer heat 🌳☀️
