Color painting or wood stain? What team are you???

Some find color painting an old item is a sin, some want to add color to their life. There are different schools, different ways.

I am myself sometimes reluctant with colors but there has not been once at a workshop that I was disappointed by a color make over. It’s a matter of daring.

All the pieces you see here is my collection of items that can be upcycled during a furniture upcycling workshop. When youdo not have a piece you particularly want to work on, you can purchase for a small price one of mine and I fully sand it for you ahead of the workshop so that you can straight work on it and pimp it up. Then comes the question: to color or not to color!

Do I use AI in my job?

I could give you a long and vague answer, giving myself excuses and defending…. But short answer is: yes I do.

Sometimes. Not on a daily basis. I try to minimize its use as much as possible. For standard questions, I prefer the good old checking search engine query and choosing which website I’ll open and read more from. Like in the “old days”. So 2022….

Last time I used it was a few weeks back when I was working on reviewing my pricing and business model. I wanted a benchmark in the region for creative workshops and other services I provide. It did help me a lot and gave me all that info fast and clear.

And when I use it I turn to Le Chat from Mistral, recently renamed Vibe (I liked Le Chat better but who cares?). Why? Because it’s a French company (cocorico!) and they data centers are based in Europe which means less trafic of data across the world and more trustworthy data policies. I believe everything we do is political, just like choosing an AI system.

🪚 What do workshop participants like the most in our workshops?

🌟 The atmosphere: we meet think-alike people, crafter and creative minds who want to take a break for a day and do something with their hands!

🌟Our workplace: there is not a single person who says “wahowwww” when they step into our atelier! Industrial 80m2 space with natural day light from a glass roof, our tools and furniture and chair collections and our dear plants. Mindblowing!

🌟The experience! They learn, the laugh, they make a couple of mistakes and we fix them together, they chat over a cookie and a coffee and all that while upcycling an old wooden furniture! They go home wth a big smile on and their uniquely restyle piece!
