With the holidays getting closer, your attic ladder is about to get a whole lot busier. Decorations down. Decorations back up. Christmas lights. The tree. You know the drill… if there’s something about yours that’s been bothering you, now’s a pretty good time to give us a call.

Before you become the funny holiday story about “the year Dad went down with the Christmas lights.” 😂

That little gap around your window doesn’t look like much, but it’s letting outside air in, and your heated air right back out.

Cracked or missing caulk around windows and doors is easy to overlook, and usually pretty simple to fix before the cold really sets in.

If it’s been a while since anyone checked yours, now’s the time.

“Dad, can you pull the fall stuff down and haul the summer stuff back up?” Then Halloween decorations come off the porch and will be back up in the attic in no time. Then it’s Thanksgiving decor’s turn — out, displayed, and eventually hauled back up too. Then winter clothes, toys, equipment, holiday bins — and let’s not forget your brand-new full-size Christmas tree… 😐

That’s a lot of trips up and down the attic ladder over the next few months.

So if yours wobbles, sticks, has loose hardware, or has that one step everyone in the family knows to avoid, October is a pretty good time to deal with it — before the holiday shuffle really gets going.
