The NFL season starts this week, and before the first snap, hundreds of players have already relocated.
NFL free agency is one of the most visible examples of workforce mobility in the world. A player signs with a new team, packs up, and moves to a new city. He finds a new home, a new school for the kids, and a new routine. Then he has to perform from day one.
The organizations that set their players up well, with housing, logistics, and community connections, get more out of their investment. The ones that don't are left wondering why the first few months feel so slow.
That's not just football. That's every relocating employee.

Dallas-Fort Worth is America's number-one metro for corporate headquarters relocations, and it has held that spot for seven years running.
Since 2018, more than 100 companies have moved their headquarters to DFW, which is more than any other metro in the country. In 2025 alone, 11 companies made the interstate move to North Texas, while Miami came in second with 8.
This matters for HR and talent leaders, because every corporate relocation brings a workforce with it. New employees arrive in a new city, new families need support, and new programs have to be ready before the first day.

Some of us can’t wait for pumpkin spice lattes, early sunsets, changing leaves, and cozy evenings.
Others are holding on tight to those last summer rays, late nights, and backyard BBQs.
At CRI, we know every transition comes with mixed feelings. That’s why we help make employee relocations less about stress and more about embracing the season you’re in.
So tell us: are you ready for fall, or still hanging on to summer?

Dave and Leigh Anne Clark just moved their supply chain AI startup, Auger, from Seattle to Dallas.
The Seattle choice was deliberate: it had the tech talent to build the product. But once it was time to scale go-to-market, Dallas made more sense. Deeper supply chain talent, closer to customers, central for a team that lives on the road.
Same playbook, two decisions: match the location to the phase the company is in.
That's the part people miss about corporate moves. A relocation isn't a change of address. It's a bet that a new place will do something the old one couldn't.

Greetings from Nashville, Tennessee.
Hot chicken. Live music. A city that has figured out how to be both a place to build a career and a place to enjoy life.
Nashville consistently ranks among the most desirable relocation destinations in the country. Over 22,000 net new residents chose the Nashville metro in 2025 alone. Everyone who moves here says the same thing: they should have done this sooner.
