California Mass Timber Coalition Established - IWF Atlanta 09/11/2026

California has launched its first Mass Timber Coalition, bringing together industry, government, research, and community partners to expand mass timber manufacturing and construction across the state.

The coalition will focus on policies, regulations and market development that support greater use of mass timber while advancing forest health, wildfire resilience and economic growth.

For NWH, the significance goes beyond mass timber. Expanding markets for hardwood strengthens the entire forest products industry, creates more value from responsibly managed forests, and demonstrates the important role hardwood can play in the future of sustainable construction. When demand for wood grows, the benefits extend throughout the supply chain, from forests and mills to manufacturers and communities.

More wood in more places is a win for all of us!

Stable, durable, and beautiful, Walnut is a natural choice for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and other applications designed to stand the test of time.
